Having sung in choirs from the age of 10, this talented vocalist decided to train as an opera singer. She won a place at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama but at the back of her mind was the thought that her true voice lay in jazz and pop, so she chose to return to her first love, singing with jazz and swing ensembles in the UK, abroad and on cruise ships.
She has had the privilege of performing at venues such as The 606 Jazz Club, Westminster Methodist Central Hall for Her Majesty the Queen and Tony Blair, The Barbican Centre with Dave Brubeck and his Family Quartet, The Royal Albert Hall and The Royal Festival Hall.
She has played at all the major hotels in London including Park Lane and The Dorchester. She has sung as a guest with The Rob James Orchestra, Rockin’ in Rhythm Swing Band, The Rat Pack Trio and Orchestra UK Theatre Tour, The London Symphony Chorus and The London Philharmonic Chorus.
In 2008, she sang with The Les Paul Trio in New York City and was contacted by the award winning songwriter for the late Johnny Cash, to record some of his songs. The album will be recorded this year in Nashville.
Tracks from her own forthcoming album receive regular airplay on Jazz FM and BBC Radio.
